Bat Behavior

Bats sleep during the day and feed at night. Mega bats eat fruit, nectar or pollen while microbats eat insects. A few species of bats are carnivorous, eating small frogs, lizards and birds. Micro bats navigate and hunt by echolocation (sound waves detection). Echolocation helps the bat locate and catch its prey. During the winter, some bats migrate to warmer climates, while others hibernate.
